Amy and Tristan were one of my blessed 2020 pandemic couples. They were engaged at the end of 2019 and had planned to have a normal wedding. But then the whole world turned upside down. They decided to wait it out and I’m glad they did! We shot their Logan Utah engagement session at Second Dam in April and I’ll tell you what – Amy and Tristan made those dead trees look GOOD.
These two are such a fun couple! They are best friends and are a joy to be around. We started on the bridge and took the posed shots and details of Amy’s beautiful ring. The session started out cloudy and a little chilly, but as we moved around Second Dam the sun started to shine and warm us all up. We found a beautiful spot with logs to sit on and gorgeous moss covering the rocks. It made for the perfect backdrop for some of their photos.
I love getting movement in some of my couples’ photos. I asked Amy and Tristan to hold hands and walking, bumping hips up and down the path near the water. Then we did my favorite pose – The Airplane. This pose always ends up with the most fun and cozy results!
At the end of their session, Amy and Tristan had a special request. They had brought along some masks, with coronavirus written on them. They wanted to remember the time they were living through, so they asked if we could take a few photos of them with the masks on. I was happy to let them! If it was me getting married during a pandemic I would definitely want to remember it!
