Sew Mine Design is a cute little shop specializing in personalized newborn products. The brand owner wanted to get updated photos of her hats, headbands, and swaddles, but also wanted to feature the new knotted gowns she’s launching.

It was so much fun getting to work with these sweet newborns and their mommas in the studio. While I usually work with baby and kid brands, I always encourage the moms to hop in a few shots as well!

For this shoot I chose a couple of neutral flat lay backdrops to style the products on since the colors of the gowns and swaddles were pretty bold. I also styled the swaddles in a more “lifestyle” type product photo by draping them over a cute stool I have.

When I shoot in the studio, I schedule sessions during the time for the best light, which is normally during the hours of 10am – 2pm. I started by shooting all of the flat lay images before working with the models.
