Every time I get to work with Kara, it’s a dream come true. She’s been having me document her family for three years. Kara first found me when I was just starting out with my photography business. I had posted in a local Facebook group advertising my fall family sessions, and Kara booked a family session from there.

Since then, I’ve had the honor of documenting her family grow. I’ve taken maternity photos, motherhood photos, newborn photos, and family photos for Kara’s family. Our most recent session was this using year’s Christmas mini session setup in my home studio in Garland, Utah.

The theme this year in the studio was “Merry and Bright” and we went full force with it! Bright ornaments, presents, and wall hanging made for a fun and cheery setup for our mini sessions. When Kara and her family pulled up I just about lost it because their outfits were so cute! They went with a “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” theme and it went perfectly with the bright colors in the studio. Normally I don’t encourage my clients to wear “matchy-matchy” outfits, but this was just too perfect!

Kara and her family were my last mini session of the day and so when the kids weren’t exactly thrilled to be having their photos taken I let them open a few of the pretend presents to cheer them up a bit. It did the trick, and we got some really cute smiles from the kids!
